Stop, drop, and roll coming to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds

Brendan ‘PlayerUnknown’ Greene has tweeted a preview of a new animation for his barnstorming battle royale game, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Looks like we’ll soon be able to drop and roll straight to prone – handy for falling into long grass and returning fire if you should be attacked from a distance.

Hesitant? Let us ease you in to the sensation with our PUBG guide.

Here’s how it’s looking so far, straight from the man himself:

The last we heard of this kind of thing was at E3, when developers Bluehole showed off animations for vaulting, climbing, and even diving straight through windows (sounds painful). We also got a look at some incoming dynamic weather.

Replies to Greene’s tweet point out that these and other animations – like using certain consumables and opening car doors – have been announced for a while now, without much news of their implementation.

We know Greene’s ambition is to leave Early Access before the end of the year, but we’ve no more precise idea about when you’ll be able to do all these cool new manoeuvres.
