Stop updating a broken and dated game, make a new dam game already, those of us who were addicted to this game years ago played it to death and aren't coming back.Reply

Star Citizen's persistent universe draws closer with the imminent Multiplayer Mega MapStar Citizen's persistent universe draws closer with the imminent Multiplayer Mega Map
brmorgen82 Avatar
So they're just starting the initial "persistent universe" now.

That means it's about 4 years away from being a viable MMO.

Disgraceful.Reply
Pthfndr324 Avatar

They're not just starting the persistent universe now. Where did you read that in the article? What they're doing is to make it easier to access everything already available in the persistent universe with less loading screens. It's the equivalent of knocking down all the walls (loading screens) in a building (game) to access the rooms (FPS, Arena Commander, etc.) Your other notion is speculative at best.

In other words...

"So I didn't read

The article fully. I

Know everything; opinion."

Makes a nice haiku though.

They better design the next expansion for flying, this running around and then "earning" flying with a 3 month grind is beyond stupid, how about you design worlds with flying in mind.Reply
Ben Barrett Avatar

They did for this one, they just don't want people flying during the opening of the expansion, not least because it breaks story flow quite easily.

You mean they don't want to spend 14 hours a day wiping on the same boss, literally 500+ times? lol these people are pathetic, that isn't playing the game, or fun, it's just being stupid. It was better when they had lockouts where they limited the number of attempts per week.

How are the fanboys going to spin this disaster....

This was out of control 2 years ago and this "game" is broken beyond repair.

THe political spin is sickening, Roberts has botched this thing and the money is gone and the "game" is nowhere near playable.Reply
TsunamiWombat Avatar

I'm the first one to say Star Citizen is a vapourware scam but you need to chill out bruh. This isn't /v/. Even on /v/ your opinion would be dumb.

SC is a dev. hell clusterfuck, but this is utterly unrelated.

Bit of explanation: Both are, essentially the same engine. The difference is largely in licencing. I think they wanted to get away from Crytek.
brmorgen82 Avatar

Nice political spin, is Roberts wasting money on you to spew nonsense too?

This is 100% a disaster.

I almost feel sorry for you, but then I remember it was also announced 4 years ago that Chris Roberts would be the director for this game.

This documentation feels less like a fan service, more like a declaration that they are running out of funds and need to restrict themselves, hit all the Kickstarter's stretch goals and release this game.

brmorgen82 Avatar

The message from Roberts that we get in our e-mails read like a doomsday announcement. It's simply a matter of how badly this game is going to fail, not if.

Yea so when is Star Citizens being released? Is it like 2 games now or something?

Roberts' greed has botched this "game" beyond repair.

A previous poster documented Roberts' fantastic lies a while back, hopefully someone has the ridiculous promises made by Roberts as far back as 5 years ago.

Pachter DID call PC gamers “arrogant twits”, Daily Star releases audio from interview Pachter DID call PC gamers “arrogant twits”, Daily Star releases audio from interview

“I think PC Gamers are like racists; they only like there own kind and they have no interest in venturing out and mixing with other races,” Pachter is quoted as saying by the paper. “PC gamers are arrogant twits who are convinced what they do is better than what anybody else can possibly do.”

This is an accurate statement.Reply
Aever Avatar

Apart from the "twats" part, yes it is. However, expressing this the way he did is at the very least a sign of ignorance, if not outright complete lack of understanding about how the PC and consoles interact with each other.

So, yes, we are arrogant and yes, we have no desire to mix with the console "ecosystem". Why? Because we fucking get burned most often than not. Poor ports, subpar experience, crap controls, poor UI for mouse/keyboard, game design with the controller in mind, delayed releases, exclusivities, lack of mod support, lack of choice when it comes to hardware ... and the list goes on and on.

So why exactly should we want to have anything to do with consoles when there isn't a single thing they do better than a PC? So they can take the choices away from us? So they can milk us for more money? No, fuck off. We use the better platform and we have the right to ./sigh when we hear about another game we care about being dragged down for compatibility sake.

Bottom line, all I want is good games, running well on my machine.

Good job CIG keep it coming
brmorgen82 Avatar

Not sure if you watched the video but that was hardly "owning", I'd say it was about on par with half life 2, which came out 12 years ago.

It was a mistake to try and superglue a first person shooter on top of interactive space sim MMO, the MMO part is difficult enough in and of itself. Not sure where all the "haters moaning" are, perhaps only in your crazy thoughts?
