Call of Duty won’t be coming to Battle.net - unless it doesCall of Duty won’t be coming to Battle.net - unless it does

Losing profits to Battle.net? It's all eventually going to the same company. Obviously Destiny 2 coming out on Battle.net exclusively is part of an effort to expand the service as a marketplace, and bring all Activision-Blizzard titles under the same banner giving them complete control.

Destiny 2 makes sense: It lacks a PC player base so without selling on Steam, Origin or Battle.net; there would be a small reception and fewer sales than work they've invested into the port. CoD on the other hand, would just be investing money to loose profits (giving away a large sales % to Blizzard).

Overwatch spectator mode gets first of promised major improvements: health barsOverwatch spectator mode gets first of promised major improvements: health bars
Chaz Avatar
I think health bars were the least of the problems in Overwatch's spectator mode. My biggest issue is simply following the action, though maybe health bars fix a little of that.

But are they really health bars? I'd say they're more like injury bars, an indication of how much physical damage is sustained by the players. They don't really show how healthy the character is, I mean, what if Reaper has a cold? What if he sneezes while he's in his wraith form? Does he explode into edgeboy dust? Even if he doesn't it's got to affect his performance somewhat, and he'll be getting the rest of his team sick too. Not a good look.

Plus we know that Genji used to be a playboy back in his day, does he have any STIs? And what about mental health? We know that Bastion at least has some form of robot PTSD from his days during the Omnic Crisis.

Proper health bars should reflect these things. I suggest that Blizzard get onto it ASAP.

Another 22,865 Korean Overwatch accounts banned by Blizzard for cheatingAnother 22,865 Korean Overwatch accounts banned by Blizzard for cheating

Yeah, that seems to be the general plot. What's weird is map hacks etc. never seemed to run rampant out of PC bangs when StarCraft, League were on top.

Chaz Avatar

I'd hazard a guess that autoaim programs are just significantly easier to implement, or give you a greater advantage. In Blizzard's defence OW is certainly not the only FPS to experience cheating, and maybe it's the popularity of the game that seem to inflate these reports making it seem like a bigger issue than it is.

Serious OW comment here. The problem I hear with Korean OW in particular is the kids that play primarily in PC Bangs. They load up aimbots on to these public PCs and generally get away with it because they aren't using paid accounts like we have here. That's why cheating is notoriously rampant over in Korea and generally spikes outside of school times, such as the holidays.Reply

Roadhog hook rebuffed on the Overwatch PTR, will add 'slow on stun' effectRoadhog hook rebuffed on the Overwatch PTR, will add 'slow on stun' effect
Chaz Avatar
I feel sorry for Roadhog. It's no surprise that his hook has always been a problem that needs constant changing and rebalancing, when his other abilities are generally considered fine as they are.

But are they really?

Roadhog's ultimate pushes people away. Mechanically it's a sound idea but what does this really say about him as a person? His ultimate ability pushes people away from him, and it's been largely unchanged. He knows how to turn people away from him, and he's perfected this ability to the point that it's his most powerful representation of who he is.

Does he really want this? I don't think so. That's why his hook brings people to him. He wants this to work. He doesn't want to be the monster all the time. Why can't Mercy, or Lucio, or anyone just stay a while? Allow themselves to be taken in by what Roadhog has to offer?

Because Roadhog is also self centered. This is indicative of this secondary ability to heal himself. Roadhog wants to love others, but can only focus inwardly, selfishly, and ultimately, only ends up pushing them away again in a fit of destruction.

This is why his hook is broken. Because he can't learn to love.Reply

Overwatch Valentine's voicelines datamined, breaking hearts of Mercy fans everywhereOverwatch Valentine's voicelines datamined, breaking hearts of Mercy fans everywhere

As much as I love the PharMercy shipping, we can't deny there's always canonically been something between Mercy and Genji.

Mercy was the one that put Genji back together as a cyberboy, which you could argue is just part of her being a professional doctor/medic. But then why would Mercy have given Genji such an amazing arse? I mean, she must've put work into that. Also if Genji's hiding some cyberpeen, then remember that Mercy would've had to construct that too.

I don't mean to imply that Mercy creepily built herself a perfect boyfriend (the perfect boyfriend is clearly McRee) but she obviously took pride in her work and surely that counts for something?

Also, is Genji naked? I mean, Zenyatta confirms that Omnics at least attempt some kind of covering up their dignity. So why does Genji get away with just a bandanna and what I assume is a facemask? Were the Shimada family naturists? That would explain Hanzo's exposed nipple. Someone probably told him to cover up and he couldn't quite go all the way out of pride.

At least now Genji can be free to expose his nakedness to the world. The Shimada family honour of nudity can be upheld.

Oh what a wonderful world it would be if only shit games got poor sales. But no, personal taste aside I've been hearing that both Watch Dogs 2 and Titanfall 2 are miles better than the originals, despite achieving much poorer sales.

SAMURAI WARRIORS 4-II review snippet How does SAMURAI WARRIORS 4-II make you feel powerful?
A bit of a strange question this. I'd say the game makes you feel powerful less in the way a Warriors game usually plays out (with slaughtering 1,000's of generic soldiers) but more in the way of achieving battlefield objectives and taking out high value targets. Sure there's still a lot of hack and slash going on but to really be effective you'll need to work methodically to take down the enemy's morale. For the first time to me it feels as if the series is growing up.
