So the thing is; this isn't actually pay to win. The only thing you get out of bright engrams that aren't cosmetics are weapons mods; which you earn plenty of throughout the game before hitting level 20. And then when you do hit lvl 20 you actually earn those Bright Engrams every time your exp bar fills again(like how in Overwatch you get Loot Boxes), just like how in D1 you would get motes of light, except in this game you get a Bright Engram. They are very very easy to earn.

I'd imagine people that are about to write an article on stuff like this would look into this, but whoever wrote it is daft apparently.Reply

I say all of the things you just said in the article, and I never say this is pay-to-win. In fact, I say "I wouldn't personally call 'pay-to-win'," not that it's necessarily for me to pass judgement - this is a news piece, not opinion. And it's undoubtedly newsworthy to say that gameplay-affecting items are in loot boxes now.

I'd imagine people that are about to comment on stuff like this would read it first, but... well, you see where I'm going with this.
