Racing games for PC: ten of the best for 2017Racing games for PC: ten of the best for 2017

Realistic and simulation are one and the same. If realistic is meant in graphical terms then Assetto Corsa should be there and shift should be removed.

Suggested categories simulation, arcade, simcade. Simcade being a blend of the two offering enough realism yet kept approachable i.e. F1 2016.

Both Dirt Rally and Project Cars should be in the simulation category. Lastly surely something like grid has more merit being in this list under arcade then something as dated as Driver: San Francisco.

I understand you guys just update old articles which in itself is not a problem, but some of these lists, even if opinions are pretty far off the mark.

Doesn't EVE already do this? I have played it a few times over the years and its whole hook is its player driven content letting corporations own parts of space etc. Sounds like that with some tweaks and a setting change (fantasy vs sci-fi).

ah gotta love trailers that shed no light on the actual game. What is this meant to be? Sims survival? Another survival game like Rust etc. There generic trailer has failed to make me care enough to finish reading the article lol.

A definitive ranking of all the Mass Effect games, from worst to bestA definitive ranking of all the Mass Effect games, from worst to best

Still yet to finish 2... The combat just seems so, bland. While this is an unfair comparison, its still the best way to explain it. To me its a mix up between ME1 and MEA. ME1 being RPG focused with great control over your team mates, MEA being action focused with combat that flows extremely well. ME2 combat feels like it lacks any strategic depth and has none of the gusto of a action game like MEA.Reply

I think the set pices in ME2 hurt the combat. It was rather boring sit behind boxes most of the time. I still prefer the combat from original over the others even if it wasn't as polished.

while he does sound naive, unwilling to see the merit in games as a media... 9 times out of 10 making the wise choice and taking the money would of paid off. Early on, the Witcher 1 was a cult hit, letting them continue doing what they love, the same goes for 2 in a lot of ways, they saw more success and the chance to make something truly special but all 3 titles were risks (they would of known they had a winner with 3). Now I imagine they have enough money to do pretty much whatever the hell they like for the foreseeable future i.e. hence not seeing 2077 until around 2077.

While I generally hate remasters I really really hope they redo the first Witcher making it the vision they wanted and making the series whole, its pretty much unplayable these days because of modern hardware.Reply

Just completed original Witcher few months ago. It is even better now when you know characters from all the games and and how there was already hints in first game about events that happened in third. And that plot twist in the end! Awesome game that still looks pretty enough.

Professional animators talk about what went wrong with Mass Effect: AndromedaProfessional animators talk about what went wrong with Mass Effect: Andromeda

I think most players put two and two together and... overestimated the quality of cut-scenes, dialog and voice acting as a whole. Look at what CD Projekt pulled of with Witcher 3. Developed at an astoundingly low cost, an almost insane amount of game time to finish, the level of quality side quests had was mind boggling, they could of easily been mistaken for main quests. Not to mention the realistic animations & voice acting. From start to finish only a few quests really "missed" at all.

Most RPG fans look at Bioware as the kings of the genre. Now in the hands of a massive company such as EA, I think most fans thought they would surely be going for the crown and making a statement with this game.

Don't get me wrong I am loving the game immensely, I wouldn't even say I am disappointed or anything like that. I'm just a little surprised with where they used the funds. Personally I think they would of been far better off dropping MP all together focusing on story especially being the first game.Reply

CD Projekt Red realized early on that they weren't going to be able to animate all of the dialogue well enough, they wrote software that created most of the facial animations. Then animators would smooth over the rough spots. It worked brilliantly.

It is so much easier to create bonds with characters when their faces animate realistically.
