Bluehole say PUBG player banned for stream sniping was lobby hopping to try to secure killsBluehole say PUBG player banned for stream sniping was lobby hopping to try to secure kills

It's fairly obvious what Bluehole and PU care about, and that's the dollaroo. Streamers bring in players, and viewers, which all adds up. If they piss off a streamer, then they lose that viewership.
So they'll believe anything that comes out of their mouths. Insta-banning without due process is proof of this.

What's worse is that they have clearly accepted that the report system is being abused by streamers. While they actively get their viewership to report players, Bluehole and PU are accepting it.

How can they have those rules in place? Allowing streamers to abuse the reporting system, while systematically banning anyone that they do report?

Hardly a fair way to handle players. Giving streamers higher privileges in their game, while the regular player gets shitted on if they are unlucky enough to land in a server with a child-streamer who throws his mouth off whenever he gets killed.

"OH NOES THEY KILLED ME, BUT IM BETTER THAN THEM, THEY MUST BE CHEATING OR STREAM SNIPING"Reply

I agree entirely. Especially when you reach the higher rankings/ELO ratings, you'll get more and more of the same people, so being killed or seeing the same person in your games isn't even necessarily indicative that they're "sniping" you.

Also, there are various levels of sniping as well... some may be just trying to click play at the same time so you might get in the same match, some may be more nefarious and actually using their streams to figure out exactly where they landing and stalking them. The former I have no problems with really, the latter I think is shitty, but still shouldn't be bannable really as the streamer literally publishes their stream.

And another misogynist, who has a problem with women taking lead roles in video games.

Grow up, this is 2017. Perhaps you should seclude yourself away from the general population if you have a problem with women taking roles and positions in life that both men and women can do.

Not really.

This is 2017 and the woman that can pass the standards of modern day specfors is a very rare thing. You know a snowflake.

If theyre all brain washed to the same level. Then a man should be harder, batter, faster, stronger.

Personally Id prefer them to just wear helms all the time. Then they can be anyone you want them to be.

People didnt give a sh#t about the back story of storm trooper 1D back in the day.

Had my Steam controller for around 6 months now, and I've used it maybe... 3 times?

Honestly, it's a purchase I regret making. There are only a handful of games that work well with the controller (mainly management type games... CIV, Xcom etc), for racing games a standard Xbox controller far outplays the steam controller, and for FPS games, well you have to go with KB&M if you actually want to play well.

The build quality feels flimsy, the 'haptic feedback' feels cheap and is just annoying.

What I do like are the back panels which can act as short of shift-keys. I hope other standard controllers in the future pick this up.

But the rest? No thank you. It feels like a cheap, 3rd party controller, but with a cost that is more than a standard console controller.

I can only think of one game that has a proper full game experience in VR, and that's elite dangerous.

The rest of the games just seem like tech demo's, or indie games with PS2 era graphics.

For the price of $500, I would expect a LOT more to play and experience.

Either the price still needs to come down, or there needs to be some proper VR games on the market.

A friend of mine as an Oculus kit, and after being in awe about it for about a month, it's now a paperweight.

There's just not much out there to keep you using this device.

Xbox 360 controller for me.

With it's native integration into Window 10, you don't have to fuck around with drivers/ motionjoy or anything like that... and you don't even have to be running Steam to use it.

It's comfortable, ergonomic, wireless, relatively cheap and feels great. The batteries last a fairly long time as well.

Yeah, well, I'll believe it when I see it.
DAE remember when the Oculus was being advertised as the most affordable consumer VR kit at $350? Then it came out at $600, and that doesn't even include delivery, which was another $100 if you were in the EU.

I really don't trust any projections that come from Oculus.

Call of Duty: Ghosts and Colonial Marines were bad games, even if they didn't have performance issues. Dishonored 2 is one of the best games I've played.

I did consider the performance issues. For two paragraphs. I let people know that they may experience issues. Nobody is being misled. Everything people need to know is in the text of the review, not the number at the end.

Flappers Avatar

> I get an acceptable frame rate most of the time. But it does bounce around. A lot. It might be 50 one moment, and then 100 the next, though it’s generally lower. I’ve also had an issue with a specific area, the Dust District, which caused my frame rate to tank, sometimes going below 30. And more annoyingly, the graphics options just don’t seem to matter. Only a few elements seem to make any difference, and even they sometimes don’t change anything.

So the game drops down to 30FPS at times, with noticeable drops below 60 at other times...

When a AAA game is unable to maintain a solid 60FPS, and you give it a 10/10 is saying to the developers and publishers "oh yeah, it's totally OK for you to deliver unoptimized games to the consumer, if they have problems, they can deal with it, as it's a 10/10 game"

If anything, this release just shows that Bethesda's recent policy change when it comes to review copies is a massive detriment to the PC gaming community.

Sites like this should be punishing the publishers and developers for delivering a shoddy port to PC. Not rewarded with high scores and non-stop praise.

You did go on for two paragraphs. 2 large paragraphs talking about poor performance, but your score at the end of it completely neglects those paragraphs.

At the time of writing, the Steam reviews for the game are "Mixed". Over 3000 positive, and over 2000 negative.

This isn't just a case of user based issues. This is a massive performance issue across numerous types of machines, and should always be taken into account when writing official reviews for a product.

You are giving Bethesda a free pass for handing out a terrible PC port.

If this was an overall review across all consoles, then I could understand the score. But this is a PC centric website. If a game runs badly for people, and you are not getting a solid 60FPS throughout, then it should be questioned.

"Inconsistent performance aside,"

What? How can you put a massive problem the game has aside and rate it 10/10?

I thought this was a PC Gaming website? Performance issues should be taken massively into consideration when rating a game.

The game is unplayable for a lot of people!

While we're at it, why don't we say:

"COD Ghosts: Performance issues aside, the game is great 10/10"

"Consoles, locked framerates aside, and low quality graphics aside... they are great, 10/10"

"Alien Colonial Marines: All the issues aside, it's a great game, 10/10"

You can't just throw a massive problem aside to give a game maximum scores... it's misleading, and not good for the consumer.

Reviews are supposed to help consumers decide if they should buy the game or not. If you don't take into consideration problems like these, consumers won't see it as big as a problem as it should be, and go and waste their money on a product that they may not even be able to play.

So what is this? A review or an advertisement?Reply

In the future, I think it would be more helpful for gamers if the tests were also performed on mid-high range hardware.

Not everyone has or intends to get a GTX1080, while most people are running from a 970 - 1070.

Would be cool for future high profile releases, just a thought

Sony's Shuhei Yoshida says he understands "some criticisms Sean Murray is getting" for No Man's SkySony's Shuhei Yoshida says he understands "some criticisms Sean Murray is getting" for No Man's Sky

Here's the thing (I don't want to sound defensive or anything, just pointing out facts)...

1. The servers at the time went offline. There was a large influx of players, and it knocked off the servers, so people were playing offline without realizing it. Check their twitter feed...

2. Multiplayer uses Peer to Peer technology. The way it works in this game is similar to that of Elite Dangerous, where if players meet up, it creates a local instance hosted by one of the players, and the other player connects to it. This issue could be caused by conflicting NAT configurations, or blocked ports on either end.

3. It could well be just a bug (as mentioned in the article).

My money is on point 2. Even in Elite Dangerous some players can't join other players instances due to conflicting network configurations. My guess is that it's the same case here.

Until we have other people experiencing the same, using this as clear evidence that there is no multiplayer meetups in the game is a bit far fetched.

Just trying to remain objective here...Reply
FTR iRage Avatar

You are very much correct. I read the reddit post and apparently Sean said that when you get close enough to another player you will connect to their "private server". If this is how it works and the servers were having issues, then nobody would've been able to connect to someone else's server, meaning they wouldn't be able to see each other, which also explains why the time of day was different. When base building comes out we will be able to see if it actually is multiplayer because we will be able to see if we see what other players see. We might even be able to see if multiplayer is a thing when PC comes out because it'll be easier to communicate across steam and you can data mine to see if there even is a player model.

PC for sure. The effects make the game feel better... when your group loses that bit of health, and then there's that UMPH - it adds more to the game. Granted it could work as a board game, but I think PC is where it's home is.
