I kinda saw this trend happening a while ago and a friend of mine and myself both made the switch from 360 to PC's and we feel it has been for the better. Most of the same games, cheaper games and we can play with any control devices. Plus mods are not just arriving they've always been here.

@Long last!Lol,how long did it take you to realsie that you can also Mod your PC games, yes they are always cheaper, and for FPS and RTS you can NOT beat the PC and its been like this since i got my first one in the 80's!The list goes on and on,with a KB+Mouse in FPS games you get that X hair on your opponent seconds quicker! And split seconds in some games is everything.TBH i think MS are already too late for this.

So why then would you develop games like NHL and Madden for PC and then proceed to not release them on said PCs?

EA's reticence to put Madden on PC made more sense before Steam's explosion in the past couple years. The fact that they're not considering putting Madden on there now, with the enormous size of its market, is just a huge missed opportunity (and a personal disappointment for me, as a huge fan of the sport who owns no next-gen consoles).

I'm the same way but for the NHL series. there is no comparable game on the Pc market yet EA keeps saying "no one on PC wants to play our games." Shame really, they seem totally afraid to even test the market. One thing that does differ from their normal stance I saw regarding NHL once was they said if they were to do a PC release they'd want to do more than the console versions offer b/c PC players want more, supposedly. I don't get why they are so afraid to even test the market.

Shame all the shotguns except the mag-7 sound exactly the same and possibly even use the same file for their sounds. Also they do not sound like shotguns at all.

I've been thinking about it but am also interested in the Steam controller. The one thing I don't like about the Steam option is that is is so heavily tied into Big Picture. Idk, decisions, decisions.

I've just always stuck to the PS controllers after using them since the analog pads first released, so for me it's just habit.

The only downside is I fear this will cost more than a steam controller or DS3 and from using the demo setups in stores I really didn't like the feel of the buttons on these things.

Miss my DS3 everyday idk how it even broke but somehow it got all messed up and every input would be going crazy saying they are being pressed.

Oh well, the Xbox Controller S does the job well enough plus it actually feels solid and well build unlike most more modern electronics.Reply
Belimawr Avatar

get a DS4 pad, works the same way the DS3 feels but the very slight difference from the 3 to the 4 made a massive difference in your hands.

normally when they start to cross button presses it's because they got damp.

Not necessarily. Steam packages can be hidden from the public, so it could be any of the hidden packages whose ids are showing up on steamdb: https://steamdb.info/apps/

Thanks for the info guys. Thought I was going crazy trying to find it on the store but couldn't.

I'm not seeing the steam page anywhere, was it removed or is it not really up yet?Reply

That store page screenshot is from the Front Wire Studios blog post. It's most likely photoshopped because Galaxy in Turmoil doesn't have any app ID on Steam and thus no store page.

Are Xbox One gamers stealing Fallout 4 PC mods and uploading them as their own?Are Xbox One gamers stealing Fallout 4 PC mods and uploading them as their own?
AnAuldWolf Avatar

Normally I'm the first one to defend console owners and their choices. The thing is though is even I've seen that these Fallout 4 on console owners are actively attacking PC owners on sites like Nexus for nothing more than we chose to support an open platform.

That's an issue. It's a cognitive dissonance issue in particular, and they're not making themselves look good with it. It's making a scapegoat to blame, so they don't have to blame themselves or the hardware manufacturers for making closed systems. For the price they paid for their next gen consoles, they could've instead opted to buy a mid-range computer. They could have enjoyed everything modding has to offer.

It's just that they expected that when it came to the consoles, it would be all that we have. They didn't realise or understand what they'd be missing out on. Such as being able to make compatibility patches, merging mods, the script extender, and so many other things that really enable modding on a PC. Without that, the best you can actually achieve are a few tweaks here and there, and you need to be incredibly careful that no two mods touch the same thing.

So now they're blaming us for that. When they get over 10 mods and they see compatibility issues, it's the fault of the modder for making crap mods. And they'll attack them for it. Pointing out that it works on a computer or just by loading the mod itself just makes them more hostile, and if you dare suggest that they need to cut back on mods, they'll become rabid.

This isn't all console owners doing this, mind you. Don't even think that. Just those who bought Fallout 4 (and far too many of them, I feel). I feel very much soured to them at this point because of that.

I'll still defend console owners and their choices in the future, though, but I can't not remember this as a black mark in my experiences with them. Especially considering how highly I view modders, making stuff for people for free and not asking anything in return and all.

Hideous Mutant Freek Avatar

It's the same toxic people on PC too. The internet just allows the worst of people to trend to the surface and it's really quite sad. Not only do people steal others work and claim it as their own but if said work doesn't work they then attack others because it couldn't possibly be their fault for stealing something that wasn't designed for a specific platform.

It's really just sad that people are that petty. I don't care how you want to play video games but you should not steal the work of others and you should not attack others because they use a different platform than you. I played for the longest time on 360 and am now on PC I used to be part of both camps and neither is right. People should just be glad we can all play video games at all.

I really will never understand this whole thing where people "hate" others for something like how they play video games or any of the other stupid petty reasons people start arguments. I really believe it's that kind of petty crap that has the world in the position it is in. Not consoles vs PC in particular but just stupid petty garbage from history has people hating each other and fighting because that is how it was in the past. Just stupid... Everyone just chill and have fun.
