Yeah, £50 for the game, £40 for 'premium'. £70-£90 for something that would have been an expansion or a mod 5 years ago :/ my brain refuses to accept that sadly.

I know from where you are coming but i think that its worth money. I mean after BF4 i will take Hardline and hug it as strong as i can. No rooftop snipers, no AA thats slaying infatnry, no Helis that are dominating, no UCAVs, no Missles from Commander, no counter-knife, no bullshit. It's taking out so much crappy mechanics that i cant care less if its police vs cops reskin or WWI reskin or Wild Swamps of Florida Aligators vs Turtles. My only problem is that the Hotwire game mode thats giving us this "bad boys bad boys wattcha gonna do" feeling will be probably broken in final release after 2-3 weeks since everyone will be spamming rpgs with armored cars and upgraded heli above...

Tried it this weekend with some friends. Sadly I still don't get it - it still feels like a mod/expansion for BF4 rather than a standalone game and whilst it's fun - I can't see myself spending the hours on it to justify the £49.90 [Origin 'Standard Edition] purchase.

.

Maybe when it's less than £20 I'll give it a go.

I've had no end of fun playing the Hotwire mode, it feels fresh and different, but similarly I can't justify paying the current price of the game, especially as I'm anticipating community busting map packs and whatnot in the future.

If anybody, at this point - after all the BS Ubisoft has pulled recently, still buys this - they deserve what they get.

.

It makes me sad though :'( A few Ubi titles (Rainbow6, The Division) I was looking forward to and I really liked Black Flag.

Well seeing as this game breaks absolutely no new ground in anything and has been in development for PC a quite some time, I doubt it will be too much of a train-wreck.

Then again it's Ubisoft so I still fully except it to run less than perfectly...

Topic of the Week: Are there too many games on Steam?Topic of the Week: Are there too many games on Steam?
Lunatitch Avatar

My first response was 'there can't be too many games on steam!!' but ... there are quite a few 'early access' games that have no place on Steam (or any shop for that matter) and there's too many early access games that are abandoned.

.

I feel there has to be some kind of vetting process (though I'm not sure how that would work out), or some kind of system that protects buyers (refunds perhaps?).

There is a system in place to protect buyers, it's called research. I will never feel sorry for a person that buys an early access game because the trailer looked good.

Can't say I disagree, it definitely has potential but I'd wait a month or 6~18 before dedicating any funds to SOE for this. (If I hadn't already bought it like a div.)

I see someone else did the same mistake XD

If you can't see the importance of disclosing an active relationship with a PR agent of the company you're writing about, you might want to reconsider your job choice.

.

Nice to see you're being honest about not giving a shit about ethical journalism though. At least we know whose writing to avoid in the future.

.

[Edit] Sorry, thought this was a dig at PC Gamers disclosure update.

I will probably consider it now :) depends on the price really. A lot of games coming out this year that I wanna buy - and money is limited :)

'You may find it disgusting, John, but I for one am relieved I’ll be able to play a zombie survival game without being repeatedly beaten to death by other players just for the ‘lolz’. '

I agree, that's always been my issues with all these survival sims (DayZ, Rust, etc) it always turns out to be a giant deathmatch where survival is secondary :S People just run to the nearest house, grab a gun and murder everything that moves.
