Defeating both sides' zerg raidbots at the Beast (more than 100 people vying for control of loot), with a small specialized team and subsequently having our organisation become known as the "fourth faction", in Anarchy Online.

I'd rather have new games, possibly set in the same area or time period as previous games if there is a good reason or idea behind such a choice, than remasters that too often disappoint because the only thing going for them was the nostalgia factor.

Nehrim was great. I thought it was even better than Oblivion. So this should easily top Skyrim.

I thought so too, and I think it will easily top Skyrim as well.

What kind of scumbag sends death threats over a delay on a video game? Who even sends death threats at all? Better question yet, why am I even surprised...?Reply
Belimawr Avatar

the self entitled people of today, they believe they are entitled to everything now so if they don't get it they go nuts. honestly more people should be prosecuted for the threats they send over the internet as they would soon learn that actions have consequences.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim review snippet What do you spend more time doing: installing mods or playing Skyrim?
Extreme value for your money, if you enjoy the Elder Scrolls recipe, and aren't the type to religiously overrate the first title in the series you jumped onboard with.

"That which can be asserted without evidence, can also be dismissed without evidence" - Hitchens. Sure, you might think that it's fun to consider, but it's useless speculation, like so much "philosophy" in this day and age. The cult that has formed around Musk is tiresome and counterproductive, especially in futurist circles.Reply
AnAuldWolf Avatar

I'm no fan of Musk. I honestly think he's a bit of an idiot whenever he talks about artificial intelligence, but honestly, that's just something that someone who isn't familiar with the sciences involved would think.

You should read into the theory regarding reality essentially being a projection of a two-dimensional surface, which has growing evidence behind it to support it and allows many other theories to make sense if it's true. And if that base theory is true, then it lends much credence to the idea that reality itself is indeed simulated.

And evidence is not the be all and end all. Tectonic plates is but one example. A 'crazy person' insinuated that they could indeed shift long before it was accepted into science, they were dismissed as they lacked evidence at the time. The truth is? They were unfortunately just smarter than other people at the time, this happens a lot.

Evidence is sometimes just for people who need to stop and feel things with their hands in order to believe it. But sometimes, when dealing with the upper echelons of theoretical physics, there simply isn't any physics other than bullshit math which sometimes makes other bullshit math make sense.

Stellaris review snippet How good is the Stellaris story?
Currently, the game feels solid, but it has a lot of unfinished aspects such as the diplomacy and the war goal system. The sector management AI is abysmal, but improvements have been promised, and with Paradox's previous track record, I am positive they will manage to get these things fixed eventually. For now, you'd be better off sticking with one of their previous titles, if the grand strategy part is what you enjoy more than the 4x part.

Elder Scrolls fans petition Bethesda: put Arena and Daggerfall on Steam for 20th anniversaryElder Scrolls fans petition Bethesda: put Arena and Daggerfall on Steam for 20th anniversary
Malentor Avatar

Arena and Daggerfall are both free on the official Elder Scrolls website, AFAIK. Also, Daggerfall's source code is lost in space and time, and I'm not sure about Arena's. Nothing much is gained by having those two on steam. On a related note; The XLengine project is reverse engineering Daggerfall, and though the progress is slow we will hopefully see a future-proof Daggerfall as a result.

Oo, you're dead right about Arena and Daggerfall. Have made that clear.
