It doesn't. Ubisoft, like many other companies, is formed by rabid leftists who will try to destroy anything white or christian. Don't we surprised if, in a few years, we get a game about beheading infidels in muslim countries, like UK, Sweden, Germany or France. Extra progressiveness points if you kill white men.

Common sense and facts are "far right views" that make you deserving of being killed, but if you parrot any leftist garbage marxist propaganda, it's okReply

no surprise really, a good portion of liberals have fully embraced fascism and believe that anyone who thinks differently is a threat that should be eliminated. The fact that they can't win arguments and instead resort to censorship, claims of racism, and violence, proves that.

Firewatch PC reviewFirewatch PC review

This review is one of the msot terribly, TERRIBLY pretentious things I have ever read. The only thing it tells me is this is no game, there seems to be no gameplay or challenge at all. Instead of talking about the "hyper-natura", why don't you talk about the gameplay? Why don't you analyze what is good or bad instead of trying to write cheap poetry about something that seems to be a cheap "DEEP" walking simulator?Reply
Phil Iwaniuk Avatar

"Seems to be no gameplay or challenge at all" is exactly right, in the sense that you're not trying to beat the game. As I mentioned in the review, it's a beautiful time and place to experience a story in, so it's very light on 'gameplay.' It sounds like maybe this isn't the game for you.

N.B. I didn't use the word "deep" once.

Guess I was just referring to overrated adventure games.

I just fail to see the greatness in Witness or is it the endless variations of the same labyrinth puzzle? Game sure is pretty but well.. that's all.

Adventure games are suffering from an identity crisis and an image problemAdventure games are suffering from an identity crisis and an image problem

It is strange, you complain about "30-year-old" genre conventions, but... how about we take a look at what are the best PnC games? The ones that worry about being challenging and good in every aspect instead of some garbage "emotional experience". Adventure games don't need to be pretentions "innovative" garbage. Adventure games need to be good. There is no need for a single new mechanic, the only thing we need is good design, good puzzles, good harmony between story, world and puzzles. Memoria has this, and Deponia, and the Blackwell games, and Primordia, and Resonance, and Broken Age (mainly part 2). And they don't need a single innovation, their creators don't have to say "hey guys, IT'S 2016, forget those old puzzles and challenges that make your head hurt!"

But the public has become dumb, any puzzle, anything that means thinking, anything that adds challenge and beauty to the game becomes "convoluted puzzles", "stoppers to artificially lengthen the game". This new public only seem to care about everything but what makes adventure games GAMES.

An adventure game without puzzles, without a good challenge, is nothing, it's an interactive comic disguised so that it can be sold in steam, a lazy creation.

This. Broken Age, Massive Chalice, and Space Station 9 obviously proves that Tim Schaeffer and his team lack the discipline to fly solo and are coasting on fan good will at this point. Unless they put out a major reversal, i'm willing to say the magic is gone.

BA is a really good PnC adventure, specialy part 2. There are some things that probably affected a lot to the cost and development time (such as relying too much on a single artist, full voice acting for a PnC adventure with lots of dialog or unique animations for all dialog), but quality wise it was very good, based on observation rather than item mixing and with great puzzle variety and dialog.

People that asy the second part is worse don't know what they are talking about and have probably played a couple of PnC games, mostly Telltale ones.
