yeah, its annoyingly stupid misdirection which uCool are attempting. Most of this issue rely on uCool using the original (not all stars) code (the meaning of Open Source) which they are not. they are using Lilith's game.
The "Who Owns Dota" was taken to court before, as Riot "owned" the copyright of "Dota: All Stars" when they hired Guinsoo but sold the rights back to blizzard. Valve hired both Eul and Icefrog, and seem to have tried to get the copyright, but it was settled out of court, with Blizzard still owning it.
The Copyright strikes in question are in reference to the fact that they are using the likeness of Warcraft and Dota 2 models in Chibi form.
uCool's arguement 1. Dota is Open Source
Every Moba is inspired by the same code, doesn't hold up.
Arguement 2. Eul gave up the rights to "Dota"
Fine, but Valve then claimed them legally.
The fact that this has even had to go to court is just delying tactics by uCool so they can shift as much as they can before they invariably have to take it down
Speaking of which, uCool have 2 holding addresses in California and Boston with no actual idea of where they are based

The article's been amended to now make it clear that Valve own the Dota trademark. However, Breyer's summation of the case specifically mentions eul and Icefrog selling the copyrights to Valve.
The media is pushing IOT stupidly heavily for something we know is a massive risk (IOT = Internet of Things for anyone reading. Meaning connected devices)
The idea is, "Hey, I have a computer in my hand i can carry around with me. Why can't i have the convenience of controlling everything with some sort of magical universal remote?"
How much do omnidirectional treadmills help? I realise the cost is prohibitive.
They're probably not the best solution, because the mechanics only really allow for basic direction inputs (think about using a Mouse instead of an Analogue stick for movement)
Yup, I'm happy with it as well, for multiple reasons. When I reach parts of the game that are completely unstable on PC (To be fair, that's developer error and should be fixed) I can swap to the Xbox One, I can play Forza Horizon on the PC super smooth but also play it with my Xbox One friends, and one copy of Gears of War 4 lets me play co-op with my girlfriend on two separate systems, which is better than split-screen.
This is exactly what came to mind for me as well. I was an unfortunate Early Backer with Firefall, and hung around with that game far longer than I should have. You're absolutely right about the overscope, and recreations that game went through. Supposedly Kern is cooking up another game, and has achieved some funding for it. I haven't followed it much, but it began with him mass emailing all the original Firefall backers.
Indeed, though. This is tragically similar to what's going on with Star Citizen.
