I have to say that I definitely prefer the more sci-fi based planets of No Man's Sky. The colour pallets are definitely more interesting and I can imagine SC planets will get pretty boring pretty fastReply

These are just 3 moons, not planets. There will be a lot of alien looking planets in the game. Like the one which was stormy with radiation emitting from the sureface

I personally can't see VR taking off until it's a LOT cheaper to buy. £149-£199 and I'll get one - admittedly never going to happen but that's what's its got to be to really take off in my opinion.

Microsoft announce Starship Commander, an interactive VR game you control with your voiceMicrosoft announce Starship Commander, an interactive VR game you control with your voice

This looks awesome - however, I'm fairly sceptical at this stage as to how effective this is going to be.

I can imagine that it'll end up a bit like the Wii tennis game - first of all, everyone was jumping around as though the were playing tennis for real and then later realising that they only needed to move their hands slightly to get the same effect.

In this game, we'll start by saying "open the hatch and let's get on our way', but we'll soon realise that "open the hatch" would do it. Just a bunch of key phrases.

Still though, all that being said, still tentatively excited about this one.

People can be so funny. Hello Games have just delivered a near infinite universe that is varied and beautiful. Just look at that screenshot - the ship is huge! Every time I see a screenshot of a different gorgeous vista with a moon hanging in the sky I get blown away.

But then when it turns out that the Multiplayer is non existent, people get disappointed. Despite not being entirely honest about the reasons, Sean has said all along that it's not a MP game!

We are so hard to please! Just enjoy the beauty and the scale of it!Reply
FTR iRage Avatar

You are so correct. I was slightly disappointed when I heard about it but that's not the point of the game. Yes, it's cool to be able to meet new people and possibly explore with them and try and stick with them until you reach the center but it's not a multiplayer game.

XCOM 2 review snippet Are the aliens in XCOM 2 scary?
Not sure they are scary but they are rather tough bastards! I just lost my entire team, made up of my best, in one simple mission! All DIA and one poor sod was captured.....I dread to think what they are doing with him right now. :(

Blatent attempt at getting a fresh page on steam to ditch all the negative reviews on steam?Reply

that and it probably has something to do with the way non-steam based storefronts are curated. I'm not up on what platforms Godus is on but I do know the console storefronts are less than what we'd call 'intuitive' for developers. Rebranding almost certainly did have something to do with it of course, plus the fact NEW games sell better than updated old ones. This way they aren't trying to sell still incomplete old Godus, but rather this shiny new thing which also COMES with Godus. A tidy way around the "why the hell are you charging for this?" complaints.
