I would take everything BuzzFeed says with more than just a grain of salt, so I'm inclined to agree with Tovias.

If you ask me, one of Blizzard's biggest mistakes when it comes to WoW was listening to the people who thought that an MMORPG totally belongs into the eSports category at all.

I don't think I will ever understand the unnecessary, skewed, fucked-up thing the professional gaming world is.
「Spaerk」 Avatar

Most players are fairly young, making it easy to exploit them.

There are Diablo Events scheduled by now, but their overall time seems to be too short for any big news.

Both of them are free for everyone who bought the early adopter package but can also be bought individually from the Steam store.

Actually the second, they already released a DLC for the Space Marine fleet a while ago.Reply

I thought that was a pre-order thing, later released as DLC? Suppose my definition of first is off either way.

Warhammer 40,000: Regicide review snippet Does Warhammer 40,000: Regicide reward strategic planning?
Unless you switch to classic mode and turn it into regular chess, not really. The RNG influences the outcome of each turn too much. You can obviously still make stupid moves that end up with you losing valuable pieces, but "good" moves (that aren't just a follow up to a bad move from the opponent) aren't guaranteed to end with a positive outcome if the dices decide it's time to taunt you for a bit.

This is one of those situations where they are damned if they do, damned if they don't.
If they had made them too easily available they would have had a different crowd complaining that they don't feel rare enough.Reply

Spot on. I have a few friends in the industry, mainly artists, and I cannot tell you the disappointment many of them talk about when their assets are underappreciated or even unnoticed. Rarity is sometimes a good thing.

To be fair, they could have seen people dodging good players coming from miles away. Being absolutely stomped by that one guy is just no fun, if you give people the ability to never have to play against them again a lot will do so.Reply

Because it was a Widowmaker, I expect some number of folks also thought they were hacking. I avoided people I thought were hacking a lot.

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada review snippet How active is the multiplayer community for Battlefleet Gothic: Armada?
Sadly, it has gone done a lot lately due to the inability of the devs to hotfix problems with the balancing. On top of that their communication with the community isn't stellar either and deadlines seem to be seen as a vague estimate.

The main problem Bitcoin has (in my opinion at least) is exactly this "It's going to take off!"

People treat Bitcoins like shares at a stock market rather than as currency - and no one wants to spend their coins when they are convinced that they will soon quadruple in value.

On the other hand, I do welcome more companies being willing to accept them - or in the case of Valve, at least are willing to let you pay with them, even if they themselves obviously don't want to hold them and use a middleman. Nothing wrong with having an alternative currency on the market.

I think bitcoin suffers from some serious technical flaws as well, but its the community that put it where it is now.

All the speculation, hoarding, backstabbing and the defense of the illegal marketplaces that popped up have probably ruined bitcoin's reputation beyond repair, not to mention stagnating the actual flow of currency.

Darkest Dungeon review snippet How harsh is the RNG in Darkest Dungeon?
Quite harsh when you attempt to switch into higher level dungeons as soon as they become available. I watched a team of champions who had beaten lower level dungeons without difficulties disintegrate after just two mob groups in a higher one more than once. If you take the time and keep sending new recruits (your high level ones will refuse to participate in expeditions that are below their level) into the easier dungeons to gather resources & upgrade your guild and smith as well as farm some decent trinkets, you can counter most of the RNG.
