How the deck is stacked against women in e-sportsHow the deck is stacked against women in e-sports

The reason you dont see a lot of women competing at the highest level in competitive games. Is because of biology. Women tend to have a slightly slower reaction time than men. It has nothing to do with math. We are a gender dimorphic species. There is nothing you can do about this fact.

Women are free to participate in the same tournaments as men. Look at the CSGO player masq for example. She doesn't take the easy route, of playing in the female only tournaments.

I came to PCGamesN to get away from this gender ideologue bullshit. Guess I need to move on again.Reply

So, why do they segregate male/female Esport "Athletes"?

TehRawk Avatar

I would have thought it was because women tend to have a slightly slower reaction time to men.

Also. They are not segregated. Women are free to compete against men in the tournaments dominated by men. But you don't hear about this, because women tend not to get very far. The skill level between the top female and top male players is just too big.

The fact is. Women have a choice. They can join the teams in the regular tournaments. Or join the women only teams. With the lower skill cap, and so have a better chance at gaining prizes.

I agree that it is unfair that women are not playing against men. It is not fair that women are given special treatment. But there are biological differences that lead to this.

Check out the CSGO player masq. She chose to play with and against the male players. She did not take the easy route.

Some developers are struggling with Steam refundsSome developers are struggling with Steam refunds

You're ignoring the fact that there is probably a large percentage of game "renters" who will download every game on steam to test them.

TehRawk Avatar

And you are ignoring the fact that it is far easier to pirate a game, than it is to "rent" games on Steam. Not only that but you are not restricted to two hours of a game if you pirate it.

Having to wait up to two weeks before you get your money back in your account is not convenient. Plus who is to say you are guaranteed to get your money back. Surely if someone was using the system like that, Valve would just consider that abuse and refuse refund.
