CIV6 relies on its players to be imaginative as the game remains to be lackluster. CIV6 AI in the battlefield is to scatter and annoy not divide and conquer. There is no big skirmish. Every major city is a glorified barbarian outpost. CIV6 Diplomacy has no nuance, according to the bits of text we read, as we either become warmongers or weaklings. It reminds me of a children's game. I understand that politics is complex, but there is no depth. You can influence your religion, but not your government or civics? You can pillage, but not terrorise? You can influence city-states, but they cannot demand you to fight non city-states, etc.? How about an option to relinquish influence of a city-state should you help or do a favor for a neutral leader fending off a stronger leader? Why should other leaders be notified that you discovered the Manhattan Project? I think the list goes on. It is bad enough that there is very little content on reading material, besides the manual and FAQs. It is weird that for leaders to be distinct and in part nationalistic, they seem uncultured as they are able to entertain and build wonders not of their origin. It could be a flawed observation. I guess this is a result of your geography, not whichever leader you chose. My real point is: with how well the leaders were made in a veneer of culture, there is not a lot of culture outside of that excellent animation. They speak the language, but so few lines and most are repetitive. I also believe one change they should opt for is to remove the entire scene the other leaders would talk to you about in which you only have one clickable reply and have that be a notification on the right with or without audio. In any case, I have to wonder who is behind the decisions and if they are being influenced, or worse how short-staffed one area is.
