If I buy zero paid mods, my system should have 0 bytes of memory dedicated to them. If I buy some random Prey skin, download the files that I need for that (and only that) once I've purchased it. The idea, I believe, is that they want it all there at once to speed up monetization and create some unnecessary window for ease of access. Take Two Interactive recently spoke on how they could squeeze more money out of their GTA Online consumers by making microtransactions a literal afterthought. When people have to wait on downloads in Creation Club, it gives them time to stop and think and maybe exercise some self-control.
The literal only reason I can think of for Bethesda to do this is to get impulse buyers to click that purchase button more times over a short span

My mistake on Lucio: would you believe me if I said I might be the first person not thorough in their OW lore? Say what you will about it, that's a fanbase that knows their character backstories
With Lawbreakers even if it ends up going f2p, I have to admit I'm enjoying it

Hehe, I totally believe you. I'm not that much of a lore person on non-story games as Overwatch, although I understand people liking that aspect of it when a company like Blizzard goes to such great lengths to develop it. In this particular case it just so happens that, being Portuguese and not knowing a single game that has a Portuguese character in it (apart from FIFA), well... :)
Glad you're enjoying it. Hopefully the game will continue to be supported for a long time.

"I don't understand Overwatch"
This is clear, and it makes the rest of your comnent unnecessary, and more pretentious than thought-provoking.
"That may seem hypocritical from somebody who plays Battleborn every now and then"
It doesn't seem hypocritical, it IS hypocritical. Your entire argument is ad hominem, and could very easily be applied to Gearbox or any other multimedia company.
"How easily swayed and brainwashed people are without ever realizing it"
Literally EVERYTHING that involves marketing is trying to sway you. People here aren't 'easily swayed' just because a marketing campaign works.
"It's not a bad game. It's just incredibly mediocre"
Pro tip for next time - just use that sentence with the qualifier 'I believe' or 'my personal opinion is', and spare people the whole wall of text telling them how evolved you are.

Funny enough I've been thinking about the exact same thing you mentioned in your very last paragraph. You'll probably remember yourself that during the rise of the internet over 20 years back everyone used to start their diatribe with "I believe" or "my personal opinion is..."
The Rise of Douchebaggery is a direct result of that etiquette falling by the wayside, because now anyone who makes a comment without it comes across as a self entitled bellend.
IMHO of course ;)

The only thing overpowered about him is his flashbang/double-fan the hammer combo though. Everything else he's really very competent at so long as you have a degree of skill, but he's not some brainless tier-crusher - if you screw up with a flashbang or don't compensate properly for upward tracking on fan the hammer, for example, you're dead. Period. Put fan the hammer on cooldown or give it damage decay, and he goes from 'overpowered' to 'really good' really quickly. His stun is excellent crowd control, however, and I feel like it's something that is keeping players from sticking it out as Mei, since Mei has to fully commit to snaring an enemy while McCree's disruption is just a quick hotkey away

Basically, Battleborn hit 12k concurrent for one sole reason: it was 'lucky' enough to be the one team shooter that got to beat Overwatch to the draw. I say 'lucky' with quotations because if you asked Gearbox if trying to rush to beat Blizzard to the gate was a good idea, I'd imagine you'd get a resounding 'no'. LB has that one thing going for it: people may be potentially looking for a new team shooter, since Overwatch has essentially hit a Destiny level of stagnation at the 1 year mark and is even recycling Lucioball (which made sense due to Lucio being, y'know, Portuguese: makes zero sense when we're talking about Australia)Reply
Titanfall 2 really is fantastic online and off, such a shame it was held back on PC by being an Origin exclusive. I mean for something like the Battlefield franchise, it's already so popular and has been going for so long that being exclusive to Origin wouldn't do much, in fact it's likely to be the biggest drawing power they have on Origin, but Titanfall is still a reasonable new franchise and needs all the exposure it can get. Can't imagine how much worse off Lawbreakers would be if it was an Origin exclusive.
