I7-3770k with GTX1080TI running at 4k, all graphics option at max, fps between 45 and 60, depends where I am in the map. Still smooth at 45 for this king of game. Experiencing little spike and lag the first 3 min. of gameplay, after that, everything is perfect. This game is amazing, colossal work for dev. just go to Alexandria, it's epic.

Run at 60 fps steady with I7-3770k and 1080TI at 4K at Ultra. But yes, it needs optimization, everything is not perfect as described here.

What about VR gaming ? It appear that latest i7 have a huge (and better) impact on performance in VR (headset and sensor must be using hyperthreading ?), more than "normal" gaming in 2d. It can be great also to compare latest CPU for VR performance.Reply

The i7 does indeed help VR performance. I swapped out a haswell i5 (4670) for a i7 (4690k) on the same board a few weeks ago and it made a big improvement for VR. I'm curious too if this CPU would make a noticeable difference again in VR compared to to my current setup with a 1080 Ti.

The Xbox One X will have a big impact on PC gaming… but not in the way Microsoft wantThe Xbox One X will have a big impact on PC gaming… but not in the way Microsoft want

Easiest environment?? Have you even used Steam, Origin, GOG, etc? They're literally click and install. Nvidia drivers...click and install. Pretty much everything that you need to game today is one click. People that have never tried to use a PC to game (properly) are the only ones scared of it.

Want to use your PC on a TV? Use an HDMI cable or a steam link.

Want to use your Xbox or PS4 controller? Go right ahead, they're compatible.

Want to play a 4k title at 60fps on your TV? Sure aren't doing that with a console. Most PCs can't do a steady 60FPS at 4k.

I am on PC and Agree with you. But I know people who do not understand anything about computers, the OS, their configuration, updating drivers, and so on. It is for them more easy with a console and more interesting. Also, it takes a recent configuration on PC to do 4k adequately. We will be able to compare the differences with the Xbox X when it comes out and see what investments are needed to have a PC with the same strength.

You prefer an easiest environment to configure than PC ? You want to play 4k title at 60 fps on your big TV ? You don't have enough money to get a PC that can do the same as this new Xbox X ? Or you just prefer to play on a console ? All this questions are enough to explain the move made by Microsoft for this new release.

On the other side, if you prefer ton invest into a powerful PC, there is no problem there for Microsoft since they plan to release all of their titles as "crossplay", so they win on both side.Reply

I guess my point is, a lot of people have a normal desktop that with $500 invested in would have "a powerful PC."

9/10 for me. Really like gaming with friends in coop in this beautiful game. Fun factor is there, graphics are really good, sounds are great, what more ? I think the interest in this game depends on the tastes of each one.Reply

"graphics are really good, sounds are great"

The review makes clear that a compelling story is missing. Nice graphics and sound are nice, but story gives motivation and depth. This game doesn't have it. In addition, the whole premise of the game embodies US imperialism and yet it censors any criticism or resistance to it.

How, why, and when VR will failHow, why, and when VR will fail
[ZZZ] Ronin Avatar
VR is still at early stage, quality will improve, price will drop, it won't crash, the actual experience is too convincing ("Wow" factor is always there for each new game tested). VR will not kill 2D gaming, it's another way to play game. For sickness motion, it is a matter of training and habit, the negative effects disappear completely after a certain time, your brain will learn how to react, FPS with normal motion is now great for me in VR. The content should quickly increase, and the quality of VR games also, more developers are converting their AAA games to make them compatible with the VR (like Fallout 4). The new game engines allow for near-instant integration of the VR with much greater ease, allowing everyone to add this feature without the risk of being only an exclusive VR title. Some great developpers put their effort on some VR exclusive title with great quality, like Lone Echo who's coming later this year.

I have had MX518 and now I have G400S. Current G400S had a faulty left-click button which I successfully got replaced by warranty. Since that, a year ago no problems.

It's a okish mouse but with few flaws. The 2 sensitivity buttons feel inconsistent. I can never trust them to return to the exact sensitivity value if I use them. Also single strands of hair get into the laser housing and get stuck screwing up precise movements.

I also use MX518. It's an old mouse, have it for several years, still woking well,

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands review snippet How much fun are the weapons in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands?
I really like the sound of the guns when using it without silencer, they are also more powerful in that way. It's easy to know what the bullet finish her course, with the impact animation according to the type of surface and the sound (you know when you touch a metallic surface !). Some guns are more powerful than other, The enemies are then thrown violently backwards during the impact.

If you have a monitor with a higher refresh rate, like 120Hz or 144Hz, you can obtain an higher frame rate if you choose in the game menu your real refresh rate (120 or 144), remove vertical sync (off), and limit frame cap to 60. The rate of your monitor is so high you will not notice that vertical sync is off. Also, even if Temporal AA doing a good job, it make trees to be fuzzy when moving fast, I prefer FXAA for this game. See you in Bolivia :)Reply

Thanks for the tip dude. Ill give that a try, Im still new to all the features and how 4K works on what you dont need on anymore.
