Quake Champions shows off two minutes of raw gameplay footage in frag-happy trailer

Quake Champions Pros

Bethesda and id Software have released some raw footage from Quake Champions and it looks sufficiently Quakeish. It looks like a first-person shooter after chugging on ten pints of blended Skittles.

Here are all the confirmed and rumoured Quake Champions fighters so far.

The footage shows id Software’s esports manager John “ZeRo4” Hill dying and then respawning with a vengeance. He absolutely splatters the competition when he comes back, jumping around the arena like a militarised space hopper.

He’s playing as Anarki, a transhuman punk (it’s like Anarchy, yeah?) who likes to fire rockets at people who are hanging in the air.

As well as releasing the new footage, Bethesda have announced that players will be able to qualify of the Duel portion of the first major esports tournament for Quake Champions, hosted at this year’s Quakecon in Dallas, by competing in an open qualifier that will be held in the Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) area.

If you want a crack at that, tickets go on sale on April 13. Check out our post for details on the venue and more for Quakecon 2017.
