Bethesda have announced the three tournaments that will be taking place at this year’s QuakeCon. Taking centre stage is the Intel Quake Live Duel Invitational Master, a 1 vs 1 face-off of the world’s best Quake players.

As detailed on the Bethsda blog, The Duel Invitational Master will pit up to thirty two of the world’s finest against each other in two-player duels, with a prize fund of $18,000 for the victor in a double elimination bracket. As the competition whittles the players down to the final two, the best-of-the-best will compete in single elimination for five games. The winner takes home $9,000.

The second tournament is the Quake Live Clan Arena 3v3 open, with thirty two players competing in single elimination, best of three games format. Up for grabs is $6,000 shared between the top teams.

Finally, the third tournament is the 20th Anniversary DOOM Challenge. 16-player free-for-all matches of DOOM II will act as qualifiers for 32 players, with best-of-three game formats being played to gain the prize fund of $1,000 for the champion.

You can sign up for the Intel Quake Live Duel Invitational Master right now at the registration site. For the 3v3 Open and DOOM Challenge you’ll have to wait until 1st August to sign up. Remember this is a first-come, first-serve tournament, so if you want to flex your FPS muscles you’ll have to be prompt.
