It’s time for the week of teasers leading into the full reveal of Rainbow Six Siege’s Operation Ember Rise, and today Ubisoft has launched a fresh teaser for Year 4 Season 3 gadgets. If you’ve been following developments on the Y4S3 operators closely, this won’t come as a surprise, but the new gadgets include a grappling hook and an explosive shield.
The Garra Hook belongs to Amaru, and judging by how it’s used in the teaser, you’ll be able to use it to pop through windows. In a breakdown on the official site, we learn that the operator “works best when her opponents are distracted. If she goes charging in, she’s going to get a bullet to the face,” which suggests you’ll be pretty vulnerable while grappling.
That leaves Goyo with the Volcan Shield, which appears to have a flammable gas tank strapped in on one side. In the trailer, we that tank explode when fired on. In the blog, we learn “Smoke’s ‘toxic babes’ keep people at bay, and do it well, but an unexpected explosion causes a split-second of disorientation that leaves you vulnerable to attack.”
