Rainbow Six Siege buffs Fuze and Warden for Ember Rise

The pre-Ember Rise designer notes break down what's changing

Rainbow Six Siege Y4S3 is about to get underway, and as we look ahead to the Ember Rise release date, that means it’s time to take a peek at some of the balance tweaks coming alongside the big features and additions of the new season. Notably, those include buffs for some of the game’s most maligned operators.

Warden’s getting the largest set of changes, aimed primarily at bringing down his movement penalty and pulling in some of the vision tweaks introduced for Glaz last season. The developers say “the greatest mustache in Siege should now be more comfortable to play with, have more mobility, and be a bit more powerful” – all good considering that Warden has quickly been approaching a Tachanka-like level of community jokes.

Fuze’s ability is getting a bit faster, dropping from two seconds of deploy time to 1.6 seconds. The devs want to “increase Fuze’s attractiveness and boost his pick rate,” so this change makes the ability a bit safer to use.

The recent deployable shield changes have also necessitated a big switch for operator loadouts, so nearly a dozen ops are getting shields, losing them, or making some other switch in the confusion. You can get the full list in the official notes.

Defusal timers – for both planting and deactivation – have increased from five seconds to seven seconds, in an effort “to try and reward effective control over a bombsite more fairly.”
