Rainbow Six Siege’s Showdown event has a DeLorean from Back to the Future

It doesn't look like you'll get to drive or time-travel in it, though.

The Rainbow Six Siege Showdown LTM event has just kicked off in all its gritty Wild West-themed glory, and players are already starting to discover easter eggs scattered around the game. So far, these seem to be mainly cosmetic objects in the game – and one YouTuber has found a particularly cool one: a DeLorean car. Y’know, like the one from Back to the Future.

YouTuber Prodigio Pete has posted a video (which you can check out below) showcasing some of the easter eggs he’s found in the new mode, the first of which is a DeLorean sitting hidden away in the Wild Western map. He demonstrates that if you head down into the map’s mines you’ll come across a wood panelled wall with the initials “NJT” scrawled onto them (you might have to look quite closely for these). They’re destructible, so shoot through them and you’ll see hidden in the room beyond the unmistakable shape of a DeLorean covered in a dusty old tarp.

As Prodigio Pete highlights, this looks like a reference to the third Back to the Future film, in which teen time-traveller Marty McFly heads back to the Old West to save the Doc from trouble – a perfectly fitting setting for this easter egg. You can see the outline of the time machine modifications on the back of the car through its cover, indicating that this isn’t just any DeLorean – cool as they are even without the time-travelling add-on.

Sadly, it doesn’t look like you’l be able to drive or time-travel in it. But then, where would you find the petrol in Fort Truth?

Other easter eggs the YouTuber covers include a tombstone for “M. Streicher” with an inscription mentioning how they “worried too little about grenades”, plus an empty grave sitting next to it, some Wild West-themed wanted posters, links to the Outbreak LTM through references to its setting, the New Mexico city Truth or Consequences, and more. Check out the video above to see the easter eggs for yourself.
