Great news for aggressive Firefall players who until now could only express their rage by scratching at their monitors in an attempt to destroy enemy pixels: Red 5 are adding the ability to duel other players in the game’s open world. They’ve released a short video to demonstrate the new mode.
Duellers will also be able to duel in squads of any size and, much like most MMOs, these inter-player spats are inconsequential, just-for-fun romps delivering no XP or bonuses. They’re like bar fights in Westerns versus actual bar fights.
On a side note, I’m really enjoying Red 5’s in-engine videos. The mixture of friendly voices and well-composed camera angles is encouraging. Here’s the Firefall website, if you want to investigate further.
