Red Dead Redemption 2 gets new missions, guns, and horses for story mode on PC

PC gets all the good stuff

Red Dead Redemption 2 officially hits PC very soon, and Rockstar aims to give you some reasons to double-dip if you already played on consoles – beyond the graphical and frame rate improvements, that is. You’ll also find a whole bunch of new additions for story mode here, and while none of them are earth-shattering, they’ll all add a bit more variety to your replay following the Red Dead Redemption 2 PC release date.

You’ll find three new bounty hunter missions: tool thief Herman Zizendorf in Blackwater, former Confederate Camille de Millemont at Catfish Jacksons, and gang leader Bart Cavanaugh in Big Valley. The Del Lobos also have two new gang hideouts at Gaptooth Breach and Solomon’s Folly, and you’ll get two new treasure maps with Landmarks of the Riches and the Elemental Trail.

There’s a new mission called To the Ends of the Earth that’ll have you collecting herbs “for a range of rewards.” Story mode also gets some new guns – the M1899 pistol is new, and the Evans repeater, High Roller revolver, and Le Mat revolver all come over from Red Dead Online.

Then there are the new horses – the Perlino Andalusian and Red Chestnut Arabian come over from RDO, and you’ll find the Warped Brindle Arabian and Few Spot Appaloosa alongside new variations of the Kentucky Saddler, Morgan, and Tennessee Walker.

Then there are the new trinkets. The Hawk Talon boosts your stamina while using a bow, the Cat Eye boosts the effect of fortifying tonics, the Shark Tooth boosts your horse bond rate, the Turtle Shell boosts your health refill, and the Crow Beak boosts all the looted ammo you’ll find.

You can get more details (and tasty, high-res PC screenshots) on the official site. Red Dead Redemption 2 hits PC on October 9 via the Rockstar Launcher and other digital stores. The Steam version will launch in December.
