Red Dead Redemption 2’s release date may have just leaked: October 3

Red Dead Redemption 2

Polish electronics chain Media Markt have listed a release date for Red Dead Redemption 2: October 3, 2017.

Roam some of gaming’s finest open prairies in the best sandbox games on PC.

Polish media site CD-Action spotted the apparent leak, for a PS4 listing of the game, and followed up by email. Google’s clumsy English translation of Media Markt’s response reads:

“In reference to the question I would like to inform you that, pursuant to which our marketing department received from the distributor of the product, the release date is scheduled for October 3.”

Media Markt have since walked all this back, removing the October 3 date and giving another statement to CD-Action:

“We have no confirmed release date. We expect it this year, so it was changed at the end of the year. The October date was incorrectly entered by the person responsible for the product description. We apologise for the mistake.”

Very interesting. Last we heard, Red Dead Redemption 2 has an official release window of Fall 2017. It’s sadly not yet confirmed for PC, but Rockstar’s last title, GTA V, did eventually make its way to our platform, so we’re crossing our fingers.
