Struggling to solve the Resident Evil 3 subway puzzle or to track down the red, blue, or green jewel? The opening section of Resident Evil 3 is teeming with secrets, unlockables, and puzzles to solve, something that can’t be said of the rest of the game. One of these puzzles is shown off to you very early one, just before you leave the subway station for the very first time and emerge into the zombie-infested streets of Raccoon City.
Look left of the typewriter save point and you’ll spot a colourful monument, which you can interact with. This may seem pretty obvious, but you need to find three jewels, one red, one blue, and one green that will fit in the slots. Each one will reward you with a different item, from a handy Hip Pouch to a spare few rounds of shotgun ammo.
You’ll need to do a lot of backtracking, acquire the lockpick and Resident Evil 3 bolt cutters in order to get all three of the subway puzzle jewels. Here’s where they all are.
Resident Evil 3 red jewel location
This is found in the Donut Shop safe room. Look for the fancy box, examine it, and you’ll easily find this red jewel.
Resident Evil 3 blue jewel location
This is in the supermarket in the first main street area near the donut shot. Look for a shop that’s locked by a chain and open it with the bolt cutters. There’s a fancy box in here, which contains the blue jewel.
Resident Evil 3 green jewel location
Arguably the trickiest to find, the green jewel is in the Toy Uncle shop, which you’ll need the lockpick to access. Most people miss this as you’ll need to backtrack as soon as you get the lockpick otherwise the Nemesis will block the store off.
