YouTube cuts Senran Kagura announcement stream short because of anime boobs

The announcement for Senran Kagura: Peach Ball was apparently too hot for YouTube

Senran Kagura is about a group of shinobi who – okay, actually it’s about breasts and the anime girls they’re attached to. The brawler series skirts just on the friendly side of PG-13 even with its emphasis on exploding clothing, but its heavy focus on soft smut proved too much for YouTube, and the video host cut short a stream from publisher Marvelous announcing the latest game in the series.

The stream predominately served as a venue to showcase Peach Ball: Senran Kagura for Nintendo Switch. That’s a pinball game where the women of the series hang around on pinball tables to occasionally be, er, ‘harassed’ by balls, flippers, and the like. It is entirely in keeping with the series format.

But YouTube cut the stream short, and following the original link now leads you to a message that “this video has been removed for violating YouTube’s policy on nudity or sexual content.” If you want an idea of what was too hot for the site, you can see a clip of the stream here – I’d say it’s not safe for work, but this is my job so I guess I can’t speak for office standards everywhere.

It all ran uncut on Japan’s Niconico streaming site. For YouTube’s part, the site also hosts a lot of very particular Senran Kagura clips and compilations, so the shutdown here was at the very least inconsistent – likely an automatic response to a user report. Gematsu says the stream would also check out the “rare spots of Akihabara,” and while I can’t confirm where this video went, I can say there are definitely places there that will get your video stricken from YouTube.
