The next entry in the nazi-shooting Sniper Elite series of long-range shots and explosively decompressing heads may have been accidentally revealed on LinkedIn. Spotted by Videogamer, an employee of ADIA Entertainment, to whom games companies outsource art work, had Sniper Elite 4 listed along with a few other games on LinkedIn. Rebellion has responded by saying they haven’t announced anything, but do have a new game to show off before GDC.
Get a few more headshots in the best FPS games ever.
Here’s a shot of the profile in question:
Could be a typo of course, but Rebellion co-founder Jason Kingsley issued a statement to say that they did have an announcement in the works:
“Last year we celebrated the Sniper Elite series’ 10th birthday and 10 millionth sale, so our IP is still hugely important to both Rebellion and independent UK games development. We’re actually gearing up to announce a new Rebellion game soon, so expect to hear more from us before GDC!”
For the record, GDC kicks off on March 14th and runs until the 18th. It’s hardly the hotbed of announcements and hot new stuffthat E3 and Gamescom are, but there are usually a few bits of news. Chances are Rebellion plan to announcesomething just beforehand, then show it off to journos and peers at the show itself. Our Phil will be out there, so we’ll do our best to bring you something more in-depth soon.
Those of you who are part of those 10 million sales, what would you like to see from a new Sniper Elite?
Thanks, VG.
