Snipe, sneak and shoot through Georgia this weekend in the Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 beta

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3

If you’re after a new game to play this weekend, why not shoot people from a very long way away? Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is running a PC beta from today until Sunday.

If you enjoy the beat of automatic weaponry, check out the best FPS games on PC.

You can register here until the end of the day for a chance to get involved.

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is set in an open-world version of the Republic of Georgia, with sandbox elements to enable three broad playstyles: sniping from a distance, sneaking, or taking a more direct approach with assault rifles.

The beta will include two missions, Cut Off and Blockout. In Cut Off, separatists control a radar array, which you’ll need to fiddle with. You can sneak into their compound and hack their communications for tacitcal advantages, as well as clues on your mission objectives.

In Blockout, you’ll assassinate a war criminal named Ivan Krustchev. He’s hiding in an abandoned apartment complex, surrounded by guards, and you’ve a sandbox-style range of choices in how you take him out.

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is a big step forward for the series, so if you have any preconceptions, developers/publishers CI Games would like you to check them at the door.

“You have to throw away everything you know about the series, since Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is a redefinition of the franchise developed from scratch and with a much-higher budget,” says Marek Tymiński, CEO of CI Games.

“Every bit of feedback you give is invaluable to us, and we’ll listen closely to all comments. We’re committed to making Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 one of the best games you’ll play this year, and will do everything we can to meet your expectations.”

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is due out on April 4, with pre-orders live now (£39.99/$49.99). For more information, check it out on Steam or head to the website.
