CI Games unveil Sniper Ghost Warrior 3’s Challenge Mode, designed for hardened snipers

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 Challenge Mode

Answering the call of the hardcore sharpshooter, CI Games have released a mission walkthrough for Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, showing off the game’s new Challenge Mode. Designed to be the ultimate test for veteran marksmen, this ultra-hard difficulty setting makes sure that every shot counts.

The video shows off an example side mission in Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, with players having to infiltrate an old missile base to stop a potential missile strike. With Challenge Mode, there is no HUD or mini-map to guide you to your destination, all you have is one map marker and that’s it. To further increase the challenge, enemies are now armoured and have increased perception. They will now survive chest shots, meaning a clean shot to the dome is the only way to safely dispatch a guard.

You still get access to all your tools and gadgets but their powers have been somewhat restricted. The surveillance drone can still tag targets and scout out an area from the skies, but the tags disappear once you call back the drone. No magical MGSV style floating markers in Challenge Mode, snipers must remember patrol patterns and be extra careful when sneaking past guards.

Challenge Mode was specifically added after feedback following the game’s public beta, so expect other widely requested features to hopefully make an appearance in the full game.

Stealth operatives will also be happy to know that Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 has gone gold, with the game officially set to release on PC April 25. That’s plenty of time to get your ghillie suit dry-cleaned.
