Spyro Reignited Trilogy screenshots have been leaked

Spyro Reignited Trilogy

Update, April 5: As if one wasn’t enough, a second leak for Spyro Reignited Trilogy has emerged.

Amazon India has posted a listing for the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, lending further credence to the original leak (which came from Amazon Mexico). This leak contains information about an Xbox One version of the game.

Here are some more upcoming PC games.

The store page(which you can see an image of below, in case it gets taken down) says that the game will include full HD remasters of the first three Spyro games, including over 100 levels. Sadly, it doesn’t reveal any new information about pricing or release date, but it does comes with a whole load more screenshots of the game.

The existence of an Xbox version means a PC release is likely. The Spyro games originally released on PlayStation, but have since come to other major consoles. Activision still haven’t actually announced the game, of course, but at this point, I’d expect to hear something official reasonably soon.

You can see all of the new screenshots below:

Original story, April 5: Rumours of a Spyro the Dragon remaster have been swirling for a while, and now a couple of leaks seem to give those rumours a little more substance. An Amazon listing was followed by the reveal of a couple of screenshots, said to be from the game.

The game was briefly listed on Amazon Mexico, but has since been pulled (you can see a screengrab here, thanks to Gamerstyle). According to that page, it’ll be called the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and will include all three original Spyro games – Spyro the Dragon, Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon.

It will reportedly release on September 21, which would roughly line up with the series’ 20th anniversary. The listing also showed off the game’s box art. Currently, the only available listing is for PS4, but it seems reasonably likely that Activision will follow the precedent they set with the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane trilogy, which released last year on Sony’s console, and will be followed by ports for PC, Xbox, and the Nintendo Switch in July 2018.

The screenshots for the game appeared in a ResetEra thread, presented side-by-side with shots from the original games, showing Spyro standing in front of a castle, and taking to the air to blast an enemy with flame. The remastered trilogy is reportedly being developed by Toys for Bob, who have published several Skylanders games since 2011, including Skylanders: Spyro’s Adventure.

At the moment, Activision are yet to even announce the game, so whether these leaks are credible or not remains to be seen. They do, however, seem to line up with what we think we know about the remastered trilogy, and it makes logical sense that Activision would be pushing for a September release. We’ll update when we know more.
