StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void’s launch trailer appears, and Blizzard reveals DLC plans involving Nova

StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void launch trailer

With StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void’s imminent arrival, of course we get to treat ourselves to another fancy Blizzard launch trailer. But before you point your hungry eyes in the direction of the trailer – with its confrontations, dramatic speeches and everyone worrying about extinction – you might be interested in knowing that StarCraft II won’t end with the close of its trilogy.

DLC is coming.

Nova, the sneaky Terran ghost, will be the star of Nova Covert Ops, set post-Legacy of the Void. It will be split up into three packs, each containing three missions following Nova as she slinks around, getting into covert mischief.

“Nova feels like a character who has so much story behind her that hasn’t necessarily been exposed to players,” lead producer Tim Morten told Polygon. “We wanted, when you see her in-game, to get that hint of backstory, and then blow that out and make it a focus on one character, more of a personal story.”

It’s about time, honestly. After Blizzard killed StarCraft: Ghost, the game Nova was created for, we’ve seen her in StarCraft II and Heroes of the Storm, but this is the first time she’s been the star.
