StarCraft 2 is getting seasonal subscription boxes for each race

StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void pre-purchase

Blizzard are launching a seasonal subscription box, called War Chests, for each race in StarCraft 2. Starting this week, you’ll be able to find skins, sprays, decals, and more inside these boxes, which will be available in three monthly phases.

If you want to grab them, you can get one for the Zerg, Terrans, or Protoss for $10 each. For all three, you can grab the $25 bundle. You don’t get all the content straight away though. You get a unit skin, then the rest is made unlockable in-game. So it’s $25 for three skins until you actually play the thing.

Unlocking five rewards for any chest will also unlock the same number across the others, mind. If you don’t fancy doling out for a chest, all the cosmetics will be on sale for regular prices at some point in the future.

To sweeten the deal, Blizzard also throw in some loot from other games. For the first one, each purchase comes with a Hearthstone card pack, a Diablo 3 Tal’Darim pet, and a loot chest for HotS.

If you’re a fan of esports, it’s also worth noting that 25% of proceeds will be funding Blizzard’s efforts there. Up to $200k will be added to the BlizzCon 2017 prize pool, for a start.

Head to the official site for all the details. If this all sounds good, you can get into the first phase in two days, July 19.
