Looks like Stardew Valley 1.5 will add banana trees

Finally, patch 1.5 starts to take shape...

Another big Stardew Valley update is on the way, but developer Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone hasn’t offered up many details beyond the fact that patch 1.5 is on the way – until this week, at least. Now we know we’re getting additional fruit trees in this update, so make your farms ready to enjoy the benefits of bananas.

Earlier this week, Barone tweeted a poll saying “the next update will include the following fruit tree”, alongside four options. Banana trees won out with 30.6% of the vote, followed by mangos and avocados at 29.3% and 26.5%. Poor passionfruit trees came up in a distant fourth place with 13.6% of the vote.

The next day, Barone tweeted an image of a Stardew farmer next to a banana, holding its yellow fruit, with the message “Banana is the winner! Looks like mango is the runner up…” Judging by how quickly that image was ready, I suspect that all four trees are likely in development – but we’ll have to wait for the still-uncertain launch date of 1.5 to find out for sure.

Either way: “ooooh, banana…

For now, you can sow some seeds in further farming games while awaiting the launch of Stardew Valley 1.5.
