The Steam Summer Sale is here, and Valve is giving away your wishlisted games

Cheap games and giveaways are here

June 25, 2019 The Steam Summer Sale 2019 is upon us.

Time to brace both yourself and your wallet, because the Steam Summer Sale is here. The event runs from June 25 to July 9, and naturally features steep discounts across most of the Steam library. You’ll also find the Steam Grand Prix taking place over the course of the sale – a metagame that promises to give you the games from your wishlist. (So make sure it’s up to date with the best new PC games.)

The Grand Prix has you teaming up with other Steam users to win a race by filling up a boost meter. Your meter’s capacity is set at 100 points each day, and you get an additional 100 points for every dollar you spend. You can then earn points up to your total boost meter for collecting achievements and quests in games you own, which contributes to your team’s daily score.

It’s all a bit convoluted, but the end result is that randomly-selected members of the top three teams each day will get the top game from their wishlist, and the top three teams at the end of it all will see a handful of members get the top three games from their respective wishlists.

You can see the rules in full on the official site. If you’re more interested in just flat-out buying games, you’ve got plenty of options there, too. You’ll even find modest discounts on some of this year’s biggest names, including Sekiro, Devil May Cry V, and Resident Evil 2.
