Firefly wrap up work on Stronghold Crusader 2 DLC, dig moats for new games

Stronghold Crusader 2

Firefly have placed the last piece of sellotape on Stronghold Crusader 2. Fastened the final bow on the castle sim sequel’s DLC. Really, you think of any Christmas Eve wrapping metaphor you like: they’ve done it. In the new year, the studio plan to put Crusader 2 to one side and focus instead on multiple announcements and new releases.

Like a blank landscape to build on? These are the 50 best Minecraft seeds.

“As a team we’re very happy with the reaction and feedback from Stronghold players over the past year,” say Firefly. “Stronghold Crusader 2 was an important step forward for the series and we intend to build on that progress in future games.”

Post-release updates and DLC have concluded this week with four new skirmish maps, plus a few pathfinding and framerate fixes for Crusader 2’s Steam version (a GOG Galaxy update will follow). Two DLC campaigns landed earlier in the month:

“You’ll hear more about our plans for Stronghold and Firefly,” write the developers. “We have lots in the pipeline for 2016 including multiple announcements and new releases, so watch this space!”

If Firefly’s history is anything to go off, they’ll fill that space with a portcullis. How did you get on with the long-awaited Crusader sequel?
