Surgeon Simulator has sold 2 million; thankfully still not recommended playing for real A&E staff

Surgeon Simulator 2013

Bossa Studios have managed to haul in 2 million punters since Surgeon Simulator launched. The bananas game where you attempt to operate on patients unsuspecting of your incompetence has inspired hilarity in many a virtual surgeon. If you’ve not split open a man’s rib cage with a completely unsuitable tool yet, then you can now pick the game up on the cheap as part of the celebrations.

“Thanks to everyone who has played Surgeon Simulator and made it such a global success,” said Bossa Studio’s Henrique Olifiers. “It has been really amazing to see this title go from a game jam project to a full release across multiple formats and is testament to the originality and creativity we nurture here at Bossa Studios.”

The game is now 75% off on Steam for the rest of the day, and will be at 50% off for the rest of the week.

Thankfully, despite its huge success, the NHS still hasn’t placed Surgeon Simulator on the recommended play lists at any of its official learning centres. If you are currently training to be a surgeon, please do not attempt to use Surgeon Simulator as a revision aid.
