Crikey! Swords and Soldiers is ten years old next year. That makes it an absolute classic given that it’s let us have a blast ordering an army around to kill, kill, kill! Anyway, before those ten years are up, the action-packed side-scrolling strategy game will get a proper sequel in Swords and Soldiers 2 Shawarmageddon. Cor!
It arrives on PC via Steam on November 6, which you’ll find is next week if you look to your calendars – correct. But, before then, developer Ronimo Games is having a multiplayer beta session. It’s happening this weekend but you can only get in if you have a key.
Good job we happen to have 1000 of those Swords and Soldiers 2 beta keys just waiting to be grabbed by anyone with a quick mouse hand below, eh? That’s your cue to scroll down and slam a few buttons to get your key. Before you do, however, consider finding out what you get access to with your key – it’s not the full game.
As said, the key gets you into the multiplayer beta, which runs until November 5 and consists only of the Quickmatch game mode. Once inside you get to choose to play as either the Vikings, Demons, or Persians before you try to take on your fellow players.
There’s a chance to climb the leaderboards, too, and you may even take down a few of the development team if you keep a sharp eye out – and an even sharper sword. This is a beta so there may be bugs that need fixing. If you encounter any bugs then the developers would appreciate it if you reported them in the Swords and Soldiers 2 forums.
If you want to find out anything else about Swords and Soldiers 2 then you should check out its Steam page. Otherwise, grab your key using the widget below. It’s first come, first served so if we run out of that 1000 you’re too late, sorry. Oh, also, key redemption instructions are below.
