Star Wars: The Old Republic 2.4 update is “shaping up to be very big”, due in October

On a nondescript moon in the Outer Rim Territories live six powerful Sith lords, fuelled by hate. They hate all the civilised races for their grasp of synonyms, of words like ‘maleficent’, ‘fell’ and ‘malevolent’. They are the Dread Masters, and we will fight them in two new, similarly-titled Operations: the Dread Fortress and the Dread Palace.

Described as an “insignificant world”, Oricon is best known for hosting the compound of Darth Vitus. His experiments in alchemy, game lore suggests, have spawned a variety of (probably dread) dark side-infused creatures.

A short story arc will lead us there in The Old Republic’s newly announced 2.4 update, and we’ll yet again come “face-to-face” with the Dread Masters. Alongside the two new Operations will be new 4v4 Warzone Arenas, as well as the promise of new Elder Game PvE and PvP gear.

BioWare have tentatively targeted October 1 for a release, but note that updates have been pushed back in the past when the team have deemed it necessary.

Scant details so far, but this sounds like a patch worth waiting for, wouldn’t you say? In the meantime, we’ve the first SWTOR bounty event to look forward to. Dated for August 13, the Bounty Contract Week will see missions scale to player level and vary according to the amount and quality of information uncovered during the chase. Happy hunting to all you fellow law-endorsed serial killers.

Thanks, VG247.
