Leaked images show The Sims 4 is going back to school with a University expansion

The Sims 4 Discover University is rumored to be coming to PC next month.

The Sims 4 has been adding new content at a pretty rapid clip this year, what with the new Island Living expansion and Realm of Magic game pack coming out in the past few months. Now it seems it’s about to grow yet again, as leaked store images have shown a new higher education-themed expansion is just about ready for action.

The Sims 4 Discover University, judging from images leaked to Instagram and Twitter, is a Sims 4 Expansion, meaning it’s among the largest and most transformative DLCs available for the game. SimsVIP reports that the images were captured on the US version of the Xbox One store, and they include a full game description.

Based on the description provided, it sounds like it’s what fans have been asking for since the Sims 3’s University Life expansion pack, which launched way back in 2013 (Sims who enrolled back then are probably well into their Ph.D studies at this point).

Sims will be able to enroll in classes to pursue careers in law, engineering, and teaching, and they’ll be able to pick between two rival institutions: there’s the University of Britechester, which sounds like a historic old Ivy League school, or the more modern Foxbury Institute, where you’ll be able to focus on high-tech studies like robotics.

Sims will have to study hard, attend classes and lectures, and turn in term papers to succeed, but college life is about more than books of course. The leaked description indicates there are plenty of opportunities for socializing, relaxing, and partying, but doing too much of that will impact your Sim’s grades.

Naturally, you’ll also be able to decorate your Sim’s living space to your heart’s content, and you’ll have the option of living in a school dormitory or off campus in an apartment. It seems there’s also the opportunity for pulling pranks against your rival school and otherwise showing school spirit both in your clothing choices and how your decorate your pad.

The leaked screens indicate a December 17 release date for Discover University on consoles, and SimsVIP reckons that means it’ll arrive on PC on or about November 15.
