The Witcher 3 delayed a further 3 months

The Witcher 3: not short on pubs.

The Witcher 3 has had its release date pushed back by developer CD Projekt Red. Previously slated for release in February 2015, the fantasy RPG will now release 19th May 2015.

CD Projekt Red announced the delay in a statement, saying that “We owe you an apology. We set the release date too hastily.”

The statement explains that the scale of the game’s ambition is behind the 12 week postponement. “The sheer size and complexity of The Witcher, key features of the title, have had a decisive impact on production,” say CD Projekt.

This will make May 2015 the third release date the developer has offered, after originally slated to launch in autumn 2014 and then subsequently delayed until 24th February 2015. Let’s hope third time’s the charm, eh?

Until then, you can start guessing at who The Witcher 3’s secondary playable character is.

Thanks, Eurogamer.
