Titanfall 2 out in 2016 claim toy company as EA remain vague

Titanfall 2 in 2016?

Toy manufacturer McFarlane Toys yesterday announced that their line of Titanfall 2 action figures – due in Winter 2016 – will release alongside the game itself. EA have since stepped in to say that, yes, McFarlane’s products will launch before the end of the year, however they themselves are “yet to provide a release date for the next Titanfall experience from Respawn.”

Which one of our best upcoming PC games are you looking forward to most?

Last month, we discovered that Titanfall 2 will release before April next year, according to information gleaned from EA’s third quarter earnings call.

Now, if an announcement made by McFarlane Toys is to be believed, it seems we might be getting the follow-up to 2014’s multiplayer first-person shooter this side of the new year.

According to Eurogamer, McFarlane’s statement said the action figures “will be released in conjunction with the highly anticipated launch of Titanfall 2.” Thispromotional imageappears to be from the McFarlane site and advertises the toys as seven inches tall and due in 2016. At the moment, the Titanfall 2 figures page is void of imagery.

“This is a perfect fit. McFarlane [Toys] was created so I could make cool stuff just like this,” owner and CEO Todd McFarlane is alleged to have said. “Without saying too much about the new game…You’re not going to believe where we can take this.”

In response to a similar post on Polygon, EA said: “MacFarlane Toys will be releasing toys inspired by Titanfall in Winter of 2016. We have yet to provide a release date for the next Titanfall experience from Respawn.”

Thanks, Eurogamer.
