Lara’s origin story sure is an uncomfortable one. I mean, I get that it wouldn’t make for quite so thrilling an adventure if she’d just gone to adventurer’s school and then graduated to the 1997 game but, still, the latest trailer shows off a pretty gruelling set of challenges. Climbing a radio mast on top of a mountain in a blizzard, wearing a tank top, that’s just not cricket.
And I didn’t even tell you about the strangling someone with a bow.
Or being pushed off a cliff into a river.
Or being mildly exploded.
It does look quite exciting though.
The problem with the marketing for the game so far, and something which should cause us to reserve judgement, is that we’re not really seeing a game, so much, as a lot of very exciting cutscenes. This is hardly unique to Tomb Raider but when we know the game already features quick time events it is a cause for concern.
