Total War: Warhammer’s Chaos Warriors pre-order DLC will be free for all during launch week

Total War Warhammer Chaos Warriors

Sega have been tempting Warhammer fans into pre-ordering Total War: Warhammer by offering a pre-order bonus of the Chaos Warriors race. But, as we all know, pre-orders are the devil and risky business. But if you don’t pre-order, have no fear: you can still get the Chaos Warriors DLC for free if you buy within the first week of release.

We're convinced Total War: Warhammer will be on our best RTS games list. Will we be right?

Announced by Sega today, if you purchase Total War: Warhammer from a participating retailer, you’ll be provided a code for the Chaos Warriors DLC so long as you’re an early adopter. This means you’ll have time to read the reviews, perhaps watch some let’s plays on YouTube, and then buy the game if you’re confident it’s for you.

The Chaos Warriors look pretty ace too, as you can see in the video below.

“The Chaos Warriors have proven to be hugely popular” said Total War: Warhammer’s creative director, Mike Simpson “and, by extending the deadline for getting them for free by a week, we can ensure loyal fans who don’t feel like pre-ordering  don’t miss out, while still rewarding early adopters whose support is really valuable to us.”

Total War: Warhammer releases May 24, meaning you’ll have until May 31 to buy if you want the Chaos Warriors DLC.

I guess that will add to the sales, with all the fans who were going to wait for a sale post-reviews, but now may be tempted to buy it in the first week for the free dlc. At the same time they have basically flipped off all the people who already pre-ordered, showing no care for the playerbase. These people will have pre-ordered for the free DLC, and odds are a large group of them wouldn't have done so if they'd been told they could get the free DLC a week after release...
