Someone at Ubisoft his the big red button that says “DO NOT PRESS”, because who wouldn’t? The result was the posting of Far Cry 4’s store page on Uplay. Whoops!
Thanks to the error, we now know a few details about the Himalayan adventure. You’re climbing around the mountains for your dear old dead mum, for example. My mum usually just asks me to fix her laptop, and that rarely involves fighting yetis or psychopaths, but it is still a bit stressful.
“Hidden in the majestic Himalayas lies Kyrat, a country steeped in tradition and violence. You are Ajay Ghale. Traveling to Kyrat to fulfill your mother’s dying wish, you find yourself caught up in a civil war to overthrow the oppressive regime of dictator Pagan Min.
“Explore and navigate this vast open world, where danger and unpredictability lurk around every corner. Here, every decision counts, and every second is a story. Welcome to Kyrat.”
You can check out the cached version here.
Pre-ordering it will entitle purchasers to a free Limited Edition upgrade, which is nice, I guess. That comes with a three-mission adventure called Hurk’s Redemption and a harpoon gun charmingly named “The Impaler”.
Cheers, Eurogamer.
