After an intense Early Access period, colourful viking strategy game Valhalla Hills is now on sale across a number of digital platforms, including Steam and GOG. The final version of the game, newly patched and boasting some hefty new gameplay features, is a significant improvement on the game that initially entered Early Access.
Looking for top-down, turn-based action? Here are the best strategy games on PC.
Developed by German veterans Funatics Software, Valhalla Hills is a bright and cartoony viking strategy simulation where players are tasked with getting a band of viking exiles to that most sought after of long halls, Valhalla. The game’s visual style is reminiscent of Funatics’ previous forays into the genre, Cultures and Settlers II.
Players lead their people through Valhalla hills, catering to their viking needs and fending off wild beasts and mountain dwellers along the way. With randomly generated levels, customizable vikings and a gorgeous map to conquer, Valhalla Hills looks set to offer a lighter strategy game experience.
