The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct trailer reminds us that it’s due out tomorrow. Yes, already

The past few years have seen launch trailers for games released further and further in advance of a game’s actual ship date. I first thought that The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct was setting a new record, it’s a game we’ve heard barely a whisper of since it was announced and what we’ve seen of it suggested it was in a very early stage of development, it seemed logical that developer Terminal Reality was simply kicking the video out a month before release.

Turns out it’s out tomorrow.

It could be good. It could be because the game is so good and that Activision are so confident with the game’s quality that they’ve opted for the near-silent launch of the tie-in game to one of the most-watched series currently on television, comfortable in the knowledge that as word of mouth spreads, telling of the game’s excellence, that there will be a groundswell of sales, rocketing The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct to the top of the charts.

“Who needs reviews, previews, interviews, press releases, press kits, trailers, developer diaries, demos, publicity events, etc when you’ve a game that’s so damn good?” may well be Activision’s thinking.

And, this is only the US release of the game we’re talking about here, we won’t be seeing a UK release till Friday and who knows what Activision have planned between now and then?

Thanks, VG247.
