Wargame publisher Slitherine and BAE Systems, the defence contractor, join forces

Slitherine working with BAE Systems

Prolific publisher of hyper-detailed wargames, Slitherine, has announced a surprising partnership with one of the world’s largest defence contractors, BAE Systems. Wargame developers working with defence contractors? The grognards are going to be excited.

Warfare Sims’ real-time wargame, Command: Modern Air/Naval Operations, which launched in September, last year, has been chosen to start the collaboration between Slitherine, its developers and BAE Systems.

“We are honored to start this partnership”, said JD McNeil, Slitherine’s head honcho. “The collaboration with BAE Systems is both a testament to the high level professionalism of our development partners and an important recognition for our internal production team. We are looking forward to a long term collaboration”.

Slitherine publishes and develops a vast number of wargames, including Panzer Corps and its Warhammer 40K spin-off, Warhammer 40K: Armageddon, the exceptional Distant Worlds: Universe and Order of Battle: Pacific, just to name a few.

I spoke to McNeil during the Home of Wargamers 15 developer conference, last week, about the big changes happening at Slitherine, and you’ll be able to read the full interview tomorrow.
