How to make a Nether portal in Minecraft

PCGamesN

This supernatural portal is a gateway between Minecraft’s worlds, separating the overworld from the Nether dimension. If you want to access the Nether, your only way in is through this ominous purple door.

You need to get your hands on 12-14 blocks of obsidian to create a Nether portal, and create a rectangular shape of 4×5 minimum and 23×23 maximum. You also need flint and steel to activate the portal.

Firstly, place your obsidian blocks into a rectangle. Next, use flint and steel to ignite the hollow doorway, which expels a gust of translucent, purple ooze as it activates.

Once you’ve created your Nether portal, you can use it to teleport to the Nether. To do this, simply enter the portal, and in four seconds you’re transported to a hellish landscape full of lava and monsters.

Most mobs and other objects can enter or exit the Nether portal in Minecraft, with the exception of withers and the ender dragon – they definitely don’t belong on the sunny side of Minecraft.

Wondering which hostile monsters you’ll find on the other side? Here’s a list of all the mobs in Minecraft.
