Wildstar demo shows off a new take on early level MMO combat: area denial


This demo of Wildstar shows two things: one, just how stale combat is in most MMO games. As narrator and head of devs Carbine explain, this is an early zone, but already the mobs are playing like raid-bosses, dropping fire and AoE attacks that have to be dodged and danced around. Even more interesting: how the player attacks are area-of-effect, and how players are already exploiting tactical nuance.
